What type of vehicles do you build and work on?
At Patrol Vans, we specialize in crafting premium off-grid adventure vans designed for exploration, overlanding, family travel, and ultimate capability. We primarily build on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis — renowned for its reliability, performance, and versatility — with a strong emphasis on AWD (All-Wheel Drive) models to handle rugged terrain and off-road demands.
All three of our signature models — the AlphaVan, EchoVan, and OmegaVan — are built exclusively on Sprinter AWD chassis (typically the popular 144” wheelbase configurations, with options varying by model and customization).
We offer two main ways to get your dream van:
• Purchase a complete van package directly from us: Choose one of our pre-designed or in-build models, fully finished with our signature high-end features like advanced off-grid systems, rugged upgrades, and custom craftsmanship — ready to hit the trails.
• Bring us your own chassis: Supply a new or used Mercedes Sprinter (AWD preferred), and we’ll transform it into an AlphaVan, EchoVan, OmegaVan, or a fully bespoke build tailored to your exact needs, from electrical and suspension upgrades to interior layouts and exterior enhancements.

Does Patrol Vans supply the van, or do we buy the van and bring it in for upfit?
Yes to both — we make it flexible so you can choose the path that works best for you.
• Hit the easy button and purchase the complete package from us: We offer ready-to-go or in-build adventure vans directly through Patrol Vans. Browse our current inventory of fully finished or near-complete models (like new or low-mileage Mercedes Sprinter AWD chassis turned into AlphaVan, EchoVan, or OmegaVan configurations) on our Shop Vans page. This is the hassle-free option: we source the chassis, handle every aspect of the build with our premium off-grid systems, rugged upgrades, and custom craftsmanship, and deliver your turnkey adventure rig ready for the road or trails.
• Bring your own van for upfit: Already own a Mercedes Sprinter (new or used, AWD preferred)? Ship it or drive it to our shop, and we’ll transform it into one of our signature models or a fully bespoke build tailored to your vision. We specialize in elevating existing vans with top-tier electrical, suspension, interior, exterior, and off-road enhancements — turning what you have into the ultimate Patrol Vans experience.

How long does a build usually take to complete?
Build times at Patrol Vans vary based on several factors, including current demand, the complexity of your custom options, parts availability, and our production schedule — but we always prioritize our signature attention to detail and premium craftsmanship to deliver an exceptional adventure van.
Once we finalize your purchase (or upfit agreement), the process typically unfolds like this:
• We work closely with you to select your desired options, accessories, finishes, layout preferences, and any bespoke upgrades for your AlphaVan, EchoVan, OmegaVan, or fully custom build.
• We then order all necessary parts, materials, and — if you’re purchasing the complete package — the Mercedes Sprinter AWD chassis itself.
• Your project is scheduled into the next available build slot in our calendar (first-come, first-served basis after deposit).
Because of the popularity of our vans and our commitment to high-quality, handcrafted builds, we sometimes maintain a waiting list for open slots.
Typical lead times range from 4 to 36 weeks, though most custom or fully outfitted builds fall in the 12–20 week range once your van enters production. Simpler upfits on a customer-supplied chassis or in-stock base models can move faster (closer to the lower end), while highly customized projects with extensive features, rare parts, or peak-season demand may extend toward the higher end.

Can I bring my own parts for Patrol Vans to install?
No — we do not install customer-supplied parts or third-party components.
At Patrol Vans, every build is backed by our commitment to uncompromising quality, reliability, and long-term support. We carefully curate and source only the highest-quality components, accessories, and systems that we have thoroughly vetted, tested, and stand behind. This includes our preferred brands for electrical, solar, suspension, storage, appliances, lighting, and all other upgrades featured in the AlphaVan, EchoVan, OmegaVan, and custom builds.
By using only parts purchased through us, we ensure:
• Full compatibility and seamless integration with our signature layouts and off-grid systems
• Consistent performance in demanding adventure and overlanding conditions
• Proper installation by our experienced team using manufacturer-recommended methods
• Warranty coverage and ongoing technical support from both us and the component manufacturers
• Peace of mind that your entire van meets our exacting standards for safety and durability

Does Patrol Vans only do full builds and conversions?
No — we’re happy to handle much more than just complete van builds!
While our signature AlphaVan, EchoVan, and OmegaVan full conversions are what we’re best known for, we offer a full range of services to meet you wherever you are in your adventure journey. No job is too small, and we love helping owners upgrade and optimize their existing Sprinters (or other compatible vans).
We regularly perform a-la-carte installs and individual upgrades on a much faster timeline than our full custom builds. These quicker-turnaround projects can often be scheduled and completed in days or weeks (depending on parts availability and shop schedule), rather than waiting for a full-build slot.
Popular examples of standalone services we provide include:
• Installation of storage solutions (e.g., our custom storage boxes, drawers, or overhead systems)
• Adding bike carriers, roof racks, or exterior accessory mounts
• Fitting SmartFloor systems or other modular flooring
• Upgrading suspension components, tires, or lift kits
• Installing solar panels, batteries, inverters, or off-grid electrical packages
• Adding awnings, lighting, winches, recovery gear mounts, and more
If you already have a Sprinter (or similar van) and just want to add one or a few key upgrades to make it more capable or comfortable, bring it in — we’ll get you in and out quickly with professional installation using our curated, high-quality parts.

Do you do upfits and parts installs on the Ineos Grenadier chassis?
Yes — absolutely! We’re thrilled to expand our adventure vehicle expertise beyond Mercedes Sprinter platforms to include the rugged, purpose-built Ineos Grenadier.
We have our very own Grenadier demo unit right here in the shop — a fully upgraded, mission-ready beast we love showing off to customers. It’s loaded with some of our favorite mods (think winch integration, bull bars, premium lighting like Baja Designs, custom storage, and more) to demonstrate what Patrol Vans craftsmanship can do on this platform. We can build or upfit yours too — whether you’re looking for:
• Standalone parts and accessories installs (quick-turnaround a-la-carte work, just like on Sprinters)
• Full custom conversions tailored for overlanding, off-road exploration, or family adventures
• Upgrades using many of the same high-quality suppliers we trust for our Sprinter builds (brands that make excellent, compatible parts for the Grenadier, such as suspension kits, storage solutions, electrical systems, exterior armor, recovery gear, and interior enhancements)
